Code of conduct
What every Football For Fat Loss member, coach and guest signs up to.
1. A weight-loss club first
Football For Fat Loss is above all a weight-loss programme, played through football. We support and encourage sustainable changes to lifestyle and behaviour — we don't prescribe meal plans or exercise routines, because every player is different. Embrace the programme and commit to making changes: this is the league where the scales matter as much as the score.
2. Respect everyone
Respect your teammates, opponents, the coach, the referee, venue staff and members of the public who share the facilities. Bullying, threatening or abusive language of any kind is not tolerated. On and off the pitch you represent yourself, your team and your club.
3. Zero tolerance
Discrimination of any kind, and violence — on the pitch or off it — go beyond match sanctions to a review of membership.
4. Turn up fit to take part
Don't attend a session if you have an infectious illness or condition, or if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
5. Your health is your responsibility
Tell the coach about any injury or condition before you play, and stop if something hurts. If you become ill or injured during a session, report it to the coach — a first aider is appointed at the venue. If you have any concern about your health or ability to take part, consult a health professional before continuing.
6. Everyone's welcome
Adults join with a BMI of 27.5 or above — it's a weight-loss league. Players who drop below that while a member are celebrated and keep their place in the club. All shapes, sizes and abilities; no judgement, ever.
7. No weigh, no play
Arrive in time to weigh in before kick-off. Weigh-ins are private — between you, the scales and the coach.
8. Dress for it
Shin pads are mandatory — no shin pads, no game. Wear footwear to suit the surface, and remove anything dangerous before play: jewellery, watches and wearable tech included.
9. Share the game
Substitutions are rolling and managed by the players — keep them even and fair, so everyone gets their minutes and their rest.
10. Keep the club safe
Stay vigilant and report any hazard or risk to the coach. If safety demands it, the coach may cancel a session — with as much notice as possible, and always in the best interests of the club.
11. Teams can change
The club may review and rebalance teams between seasons to keep the league fair, enjoyable and competitive. Change can be tough, but in a club full of like-minded people you'll settle in with new teammates in no time.
12. Breaches
The club may ask a player to leave a session, or end a membership, for failure to follow the club rules or this code of conduct. Help us keep every session safe, enjoyable and welcoming.
